New Appointments to District Network Scout Commissioner and District Explorer Scout Commissioner

Tynemouth Scouts are delighted to announce a couple of role changes with immediate effect.  

Leigh Barber has agreed to take on the role of District Scout Network Commissioner. Leigh will take her experience as DESC with her to help revitalise and develop an active Network Programme for 18 – 25 year old’s whilst working in conjunction with the County and District as part of the 13 – 19 plan to support top awards delivery and the transition of youth members in to adult members as they turn 18.   Leigh can be contacted at

Naomi Hughes will take on the role of District Explorer Scout Commissioner.  Naomi has been working with Leigh and the Explorer Section as District Explorer Scout Administrator for the past year, and will continue the work they started with the Explorer Scout Section to extend and develop Explorer Scouting further within Tynemouth with a focus on a collaborative approach to parts of the programme in particular Duke of Edinburgh Awards and top awards.  Naomi can be contacted at
