This year Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 29th June and to mark it an event is being run in Northumberland Square between 10am and 3pm. It is planned to take the form of military charities and cadet units in tents around the square running stalls and activities for people to try.
Tynemouth Scouts have been invited to take part and have already got two things planned but there is still space for another two stalls. If any group’s would like to take part please contact Michael Dale on michael.dalembe@gmail.com and let him know as soon as possible. The spaces will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
Groups need to be able to put on some sort of activity for the public to try and have to be totally self sufficient, ie provide their own tent and people to run the activity. It’s an excellent chance to showcase what we can do as well as do a bit of recruiting.
