Today is Founder’s Day, the birthday of Robert Baden-Powell. It’s a great opportunity to say thank you… for your time, your encouragement and your commitment.
Because of you, young people are learning to speak up, step forward and make their way in the world. Week in and week out, they’re learning the brilliant skills they need to succeed in life.
Alongside thousands of other volunteers around the UK, you’re making the world a little better than you found it. When Baden-Powell founded Scouts, that was the goal.
Baden Powell once said, ‘First I had an idea. Then I saw an ideal. Now we have a movement.’ This movement is made up of good people kindly giving of their time, energy, knowledge and expertise for the sake of a better world, a future full of young people who are better prepared to do good.
For that, we can’t thank you enough. Your kindness, your care and your generosity are an inspiration. Thank you – again and again.
We know how much you put into everything you do. You give your time, you give your support, you make your community stronger. You make tomorrow look a whole lot brighter.
The time that you generously give to providing young people with skills for life is changing lives and changing our communities.
