Sectional Updates – Spring 2020

We have just had an amazing Crash Bike Challenge with so many Beavers coming together to fix bikes, scooters and skate boards as well as having fun along the way.

After an amazing turn out last year Beavers are doing Jamboree On The Trail. This year we be doing this with Cubs, this is a national event and takes place on (9th May). Our route this time is from the Cenotaph in Whitley Bay to the Tynemouth Priory (More info will be out soon.)

STOCKDALE AWARD: Olympics in a shoebox. This can be anything Olympic themed as long as it can be displayed in a shoe box. One entry per Colony.

Next Beaver Leaders meeting: Wednesday 1st April: 7pm: Tynemouth Scouts HQ

Our Cubs Scientist Badge Day saw an amazing 84 Cubs take part on 15th February. So much was on offer – rainbows in test tubes, ooblek, polishing pennies to show chemical reactions, balloon rockets, helicopters, tornadoes, and made their own fuses to go in an electrical circuit, thanks to STEM Ambassador Michael Gaughan from Lawson Fuses Ltd in Ponteland. Badges are here and will be with you shortly. Thanks to all leaders who managed to help out on the day. Your help is greatly appreciated.

The annual Sandra Rose fun games competition will be held on 17th March, hosted by 3rd Tynemouth at district HQ. Please let me know if you can run a fun scorable game type bay on the night.

STOCKDALE AWARD: Cubs’Opoly – Are you up for the challenge?, Could you make a winning board game? – Design and make a new board game that shows what we do in Cubs / Scouting. Must be playable and also have a set of rules. One entry per group.

Next Cub Leaders meeting: Tuesday 31st March: 7pm: Tynemouth Scouts HQ
