Sectional Updates – January 2020

After a magic end to 2019 on the Polar Express. 2020 hopes to be bigger and better. In March we have a Crash Bike Challenge, this will see Beavers playing with tools, Bikes, Scooters anything we break we will fix it. This will be at Tynemouth Scouts HQ.

Jamboree On The Trail is on the cards in May we will be doing this again with Cubs, our route is still not finalised information will be out soon.

Stockdale Award this year is a group award ‘Olympics in a shoe box’ any size box but Olympic themed this is not to be completed until 1st July at Tynemouth Scouts AGM so get your thinking hats on.

Next Beaver Leaders meeting: Wednesday 1st April: 7pm: Tynemouth Scouts HC

A great start to a new year of activities with Tynemouth Cubs starting with our Burns event on 25th January – haggis, kilts, cows, monsters, curling, thistles and Irn Bru! the kids had a fantastic time and enjoyed Alistair in full Scottish garb doing the Ode to the Haggis.

Quickly followed by our Scientist badge day on 15th February – don’t forget to let us know if you can help on the day – emails have been sent out to leaders with poster and forms.

The annual Sandra Rose fun games competition will be held on 17th March, hosted by 3rd Tynemouth at district HQ, details to follow.

Wallsend and Coast Explorer Units attended winter camp and survived so well done for that. North Shields Explorer Unit had their own winter camp which went well.

Coming up we have the iScout challenge on the 7th March at Tynemouth Scouts Headquarters. Letters coming out soon.
