Open Day / Royal British Legion Affiliation
On Saturday 14th of May 2011 the Group held an open day to show items from their 96 years of history. The day was a huge success and resulted in more information being found about their history.
On the same day, during their AGM, the group became the first in Tynemouth District to be affiliated to the Whitley Bay, North Shields & District Branch of the Royal British Legion.
There certificate of affiliation was presented to our GSL, Dudley Rogers by the Royal British Legion Northumbria County Chairman, Mr Don Rutherford.
Each member of the Group was presented an affiliated unit badge by Mr Mervyn Lisher, the Whitley Bay, North Shields & District Branch Poppy Appeal co-ordinator.
